Echo 42 - Yorkshires Longest Running Jazz Big Band
Since mid 2018 Jamie has held the guitar chair for the Echo 42 big band, a demanding and entertaining role, requiring constant use of sight reading, drop 3 and 4 chords and improvisational skill.
The band consists of 18 core musicians split into the usual big band sections, with a current circulating repertoire of over 1000 tunes! spanning the last 100 or so years of Jazz Pop, Latin, Rock, Ballroom, Funk and Blues!
With a monthly residency at the Anchor Inn, Whixley, North Yorkshire and playing many other gigs mainly around Yorkshire over each year, Echo 42 is an active and vibrant musical experience for Jamie to be involved with, From themed 1940’s events to jazz festivals and dances, there are many chances to stretch that repertoire.
